I like to say that PR needs better PR; everyone has heard of it but few seem to grasp what we actually do.
The frontline of countless great organizations has been strong public relations teams—silent hurricanes of effort shaping how a company decides to present itself to the world at large. This remains the way that the best businesses operate. Social media is a tremendous PR instrument for curating an image and creating genuine outreach. A sincere effort on these platforms can create a customer for life or reverse a public misconception. However, too many companies treat PR and social media as their own personal spin machines. What’s worse, PR’s purpose has become so muddied that these businesses may have no idea that what they are doing is wrong.
Each year brings savvier consumers, consumers who are increasingly more able to recognize spin. You can either try to amplify your efforts to blur reality or dive headfirst into a better way of doing business.
Even if you are already investing time and energy into your social media, there is a good chance that you are operating upon a dated concept of what these efforts must look like.
In my assessment, you will be asked to take careful consideration of where you stand today, not where you hope to be. Answering how you wish you were or know you ought to be won’t help anyone. Let’s find out how you’re doing things and if there is any room for improvement.
Simply by questioning your methods, you are honing them. I can’t wait to see what next steps you take but it all begins by clicking HERE!
